Mownita currently attends Amberton University where she is receiving her Master of Arts in Professional Counseling (LPC). She is fluent in English, Bengali, Hindi, and Urdu.
specializes in working with individuals struggling with various concerns such as phobias, fear , anxiety, trauma, depression, loss of identity, low self-esteem, obsessive-compulsive disorder, life transitions, anger management and family disharmony.as well as child/adolescent behavior problems, young adults in life transition, issues related to aging, life changes and relationship issues.
Her therapeutic style is CBT, DBT, Behavioral Modification, Rogerian, Effective Communication Training, Parenting, Life Skills Training and Family Counseling.
She utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to provide treatment to individual therapy, as well as child/adolescent behavior problems, young adults in life transition, issues related to aging and difficulties within the vast complexity of clients’ lives and relationships.
Her experience includes counseling
in her native country Bangladesh for more than three years where she provided therapy for disenfranchised women and children suffering from PTSD and trauma at a Government funded project. In addition, Mownita has provided crisis intervention and stress management with the European Commission Project.
